Install and set up
Download the app, install the audio driver, and confirm everything is running — about two minutes, one admin prompt.
Requirements
SoundPipe requires macOS 14.4 or later. It works on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
1. Download and install the app
Download the DMG, open it, and drag SoundPipe into your Applications folder.
2. Install the audio driver
Launch SoundPipe from Applications. On first launch it offers to install its audio driver — the component that makes virtual devices visible to every app on your Mac. You'll be asked for your administrator password once.
System audio may pause for a moment while macOS reloads its audio system. After that, no reboot is needed, and updates to the app that include a newer driver will offer the same one-prompt reinstall.
3. Check the status indicators
In the corner of the app's window you should see:

- Driver Loaded — the virtual-device driver is active.
- Service On — the background service that moves audio for app capture, hardware inputs, and monitors is running.
If either shows a problem, see Troubleshooting.
4. Try it
SoundPipe starts you with a default pass-thru device. Open any app that lets you pick an audio input or output — you'll see the SoundPipe device listed alongside your hardware. To build your own, continue to Create your first virtual device.
About the trial
The trial is the full app with nothing gated. Each session routes audio for 20 minutes, then noise fades in until you click Restart Trial Session. No account or card is required. See Trial and licensing for details.
